Coverage of the full measurement range from 0 % RH to 100 % RH is mandatory. Needless to say, stability of the humidity sensor should remain unchanged, even if operated under elevated conditions over an extended period. Temperature and environmental influences of the individual application have significant impact on the sensor's long-term stability. Through specially developed polymers and use of high quality materials, our humidity sensors and modules address the challenges of temperature cycling and exposure to aggressive chemicals.

  • HYT 271 - Optimal for handheld instruments, transmitters, measuring technology and HVAC applications

    Mechanically robust and with a chemical and condensed waterproof sensing area, the digital IST AG HYT 271 humidity modules offer the widest application window and an optimal price-performance ratio. Precisely calibrated, the HYT 271 delivers an accuracy of ±1.8 % RH and ±0.2 °C and combines the advantages of a precise, capacitive polymer humidity sensor with the high integration density and functionality of an ASIC. The digital software integrated in the module processes the measured data and delivers the physical parameters of relative humidity and temperature over the I²C compatible interface as digital values. The HYT 271 humidity module is therefore fully interchangeable without adjustment and both the linearity error as well as temperature drift are corrected “on-chip” through computation resulting in an outstanding accuracy over a wide range of applications.

  • HYT 221 - Optimal for meteorology, industrial drying systems, agriculture and medical devices

    Mechanically robust and with a chemical and condensed waterproof sensing area, the IST AG HYT 221 humidity module with a round stainless steel casing can easily be fitted into housing openings and can be sealed against the wall with the use of an O-ring. Combined with the waterproof metal filter, it results into an assembly that is splash waterproof and enables a sealed housing construction while providing a high dynamic responsiveness. Precisely calibrated, the HYT 221 delivers an accuracy of ±1.8 % RH and ±0.2 °C and combines the advantages of a precise, capacitive polymer humidity sensor with the high integration density and functionality of an ASIC.   • LinPicco™ Axxx Basic - With calibrated and linearized analog output signal

    The LinPiccoTM series provides a Plug & Play module for humidity and temperature measurements. The module is fully calibrated, has an analog output signal and is temperature compensated. No extra software is needed. The principle of the module is a capacitive change which is transformed into an electrical signal. The signal is processed by an integrated component and afterwards released as an analog output. The LinPicco Series is available with 0 V to 1V, 0 V to 5 V and 4 mA to 20mA analog humidity output signal.

Humidity Sensors

Capacitive RH sensors consist of a ceramic substrate on which a thin film of polymer is deposited between two conductive electrodes. The sensing surface is coated with a microporous metal electrode, allowing the polymer to absorb moisture while protecting it from contamination and exposure to condensation. As the polymer absorbs water, the dielectric constant changes incrementally and is nearly directly proportional to the relative humidity of the surrounding environment. Thus, by monitoring the change in capacitance, relative humidity can be derived.

Innovative Sensor Technology IST AG humidity sensors are capable of measuring 0 % RH to 100 % RH and operating at temperature ranges of -80 °C to +190 °C. The humidity product line features sensors with excellent linearity, low hysteresis, fast response times, and high chemical resistance.

    Thanks to its linear characteristics and its wide range of potential uses, the IST AG P14-W humidity sensor is the ideal solution for universal humidity measuring tasks in a wide variety of different applications. The sensor is capable of measuring 0 % RH to 100 % RH (maximal dew point +85 °C) with a capacitance of 150 pF ±50 pF (wired) / 180 pF ±50 pF (SMD) (at 30 % RH and +23 °C) and operates within a temperature range of -50 °C to +150 °C.

  • P14 2FW Thermo - Optimal for dew point applications

    The IST AG P14 2FW Thermo was designed especially for dew point applications and humidity generators. The favorable one-chip solution consists of a capacitive humidity sensor, based on the standard P14 sensor, together with a heating element, which, at the same time, works as a valid Pt100 sensor. The sensor achieves outstanding measurement accuracy due to the optimal thermal coupling which enables a fast recovery time. Due to heating from the Pt100, humidity is quickly released and enables fast re-measurements after condensation. Furthermore, the Pt100 sensor heats out gases or vapors from the polymer, which might cause a drift of the humidity signal. The P14 2FW Thermo humidity sensor is capable of measuring 0 % RH to 100 % RH (maximal dew point +85 °C) with a capacitance of 150 pF ±50 pF (at 30 % RH and +23 °C) and operates within a temperature range of -50 °C to +150 °C.
