IST AG is pleased to be able fill the vacant position with an internal candidate who will continue the outlined path. Jörn Lützen has been Chief Operation Officer of IST since 2009 and succeeds Dr Mirko Lehmann, who has taken over management of the production center for flow measurement engineering for the Endress+Hauser Group.

As director of production, he was also responsible for process technology, metrology and analytical laboratory, special equipment, and industrial engineering, as well as technical services and facility management. In this role, he helped driving the company forward continuously over the past 12 years. IST AG’s new buildings in Ebnat-Kappel, Switzerland and now the project in Rožnov, Czech Republic as well as the modernization and further development of production bear his signature.

Jörn Lützen studied physics at the Technical University of Clausthal, Germany and earned his doctorate at Arizona State University in Tempe, United States. The German-Swiss citizen grew up on the German North Sea coast. He is 53 years old and lives in Ebnat-Kappel with his wife Katharina and their three children. His hobbies include skiing, climbing and sailing.

Jörn Lützen started his professional career at the US electronics company Motorola in Mesa, Arizona where he held the position of integration engineer for two years. He then worked for the semiconductor manufacturer Infineon (later Qimonda) in Dresden, Germany for 10 years in various functions, being responsible for technology development and the production of memory modules.

“We are convinced that we have found the right person to continue to lead and develop the company well”, says Matthias Altendorf, CEO of Endress+Hauser Group and adds: “ Lützen is very familiar with IST AG’s business and the people and rooted firmly in the Toggenburg region. For his new task we wish him all the best, much joy and good fortune! Our heartfelt thanks go to the entire IST management team, which took on additional tasks after Mr Lehmann’s move and bridged the time without a managing director in an excellent way.”
