Prize Winners of AMA Innovation Award

Last week a team of R&D engineers of the three companies Innovative Sensor Technology IST AG, Endress+Hauser and TU Ilmenau won the AMA Innovation Award for the world’s first self-calibrating thermometer “iTHERM TrustSens”. The integrated sensor unit represents a crucial part of the thermometer and was co-developed by a team of IST AG (Jiri Holoubek, Dr. Jiri Polak, Dr. Florian Krogmann, Fredy Klammsteiner and Patrik Grob).

The Innovation Award of the AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement is one of the world’s most renowned prizes in sensor and measurement technology. It has been awarded since 2000 and honors outstanding research and development work. The main criteria for the award are the degree of innovation and the clear application benefit. In 2018, two projects won the first prize and shared the victory bonus.

The AMA Innovation Award is presented every year at the Sensor+Test trade show, which this year took place from June 26 to 28 in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg (Germany). The exhibition is regarded as the world's leading platform for sensor, measurement and testing technology. IST AG is one of the main exhibitors at this event and was again able to record very good visitor numbers on all three days of the fair this year. Also, the broadcast of the World Cup matches on Wednesday, June 27, including a booth party, was well received by the visitors.
