A robust capacitive sensor platform for on-line dielectric constant measurement of liquid mixtures
At Eurosensors 2026, iST will present a submitted paper on a robust capacitive sensor platform designed for the on-line measurement of dielectric constants in liquid mixtures. Building on LFS expertise and growing customer interest in electrical material properties, the platform shifts the focus from conventional liquid monitoring toward capacitive detection, enabling rapid differentiation between liquid mixtures based on their dielectric behavior.
The latest proof-of-concept results demonstrate measurements of water/ethanol mixtures across different concentrations, showing how changes in mixture composition translate into measurable capacitance signals. In parallel, simulated sensor capacitance data supports the experimental findings and underlines the potential of the platform for robust, application-oriented liquid analysis.
This work highlights a promising route toward compact, reliable, and integrable sensors for distinguishing liquid mixtures directly in the process stream—supporting future applications where real-time insight into composition or quality is essential.
